Introduction

Luma Agents is Luma AI's current active platform, replacing Dream Machine as the primary product for all new and existing users. Whether you're trying to log in, understand your credits, manage your subscription, or figure out where your content went, this article covers everything you need to know about the new Luma Agents platform and how it differs from Dream Machine.

Support Response Times

If you've submitted a support ticket and haven't received a reply yet, please know that every ticket is in the queue and will be addressed. Luma AI has experienced a significantly higher volume of support inquiries than anticipated and has expanded the support team considerably to handle this.

For billing-related issues—such as unexpected charges after cancellation—a large portion of the support team has been specifically dedicated to resolving these cases. Each billing dispute is individually reviewed by an Account Manager, and if your claim is valid, you will receive a response as soon as possible. Your patience is genuinely appreciated.

Logging In: Luma Agents vs Dream Machine

Both platforms use Google or Apple SSO (Single Sign-On) exclusively. There is no email/password login option on either platform.

Luma Agents

URL: https://app.lumalabs.ai

A credit card is required for all signups, including free and trial accounts. If you're a new user or looking to continue creating, this is where you should go.

Common Login Issues:

Wrong account: The most common login issue is signing in with a different Google or Apple account than the one originally used to register. Confirm you're using the exact same sign-in method you used when you first created your account.

2FA / Authenticator lockout: If you're being prompted for an authenticator app code and can't access the app, first try tapping "Back to sign-in" at the bottom of the 2FA screen and attempting to sign in via Google or Apple—this may bypass the 2FA prompt entirely. If that doesn't work, check whether your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator) is still installed on your phone, or on an old device if you recently switched. Note: Google Authenticator does not automatically sync codes to new devices—codes must be manually transferred or cloud backup must have been enabled beforehand.

Browser issues: Clearing browser cache, using an Incognito/Private window, or switching to Chrome or Edge typically resolves loading and rendering issues. A hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) bypasses cached files.

Dream Machine

URL: https://dream-machine.lumalabs.ai

Dream Machine is now shut down for new signups, plan renewals, and credit purchases. Existing subscribers can still log in to use remaining credits, cancel their subscription, or manage their account—but no new accounts can be created and no new purchases can be made.

The Dream Machine login page now displays the message: "Authentication Issue: Dream Machine has moved: This app is being retired. Continue creating at app.lumalabs.ai." This is expected behavior and is not an error. All new users should go directly to Luma Agents at https://app.lumalabs.ai.

Key Differences: Luma Agents vs Dream Machine

These are two completely separate products with separate logins, separate billing systems, and separate credit pools. Credits cannot transfer between the two platforms under any circumstances.

Luma Agents (app.lumalabs.ai) — Current Active Platform

  • All new users are directed here
  • Plans: Plus ($29.99/mo), Pro ($90/mo), Ultra ($300/mo)
  • Available models: Ray3.14, Veo 3, Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Kling 2.6
  • UI navigation: Left sidebar with direct menu items (Billing, Usage)
  • Direct billing link: https://app.lumalabs.ai/billing

Dream Machine (dream-machine.lumalabs.ai) — Being Limited

  • Shut down for new signups—no renewals, no credit purchases
  • Existing subscribers can use remaining credits until they expire
  • Separate Stripe billing portal from Luma Agents
  • Self-service cancellation still available

Important: Both products have plans with the same name—for example, both have a "Plus" plan. This frequently causes confusion. Always confirm which platform you're referring to when contacting support.

Understanding Credits

Credits do not roll over between billing cycles. When a plan renews, the balance resets to the plan's monthly allocation—unused credits from the previous month are not carried forward.

Generation costs are variable, not fixed. The cost of each generation depends on the model used, the resolution (360p is significantly cheaper than 1080p), the duration (5 seconds vs 10 seconds), and the complexity of the output (more motion, color, and detail requires more compute).

When credits are exhausted, generation pauses. There are no automatic overage charges. The spending limit feature, which allows users to purchase additional credits beyond their plan allocation, is entirely opt-in.

You can add credits directly from inside any board by clicking the "Add credits" button in the top right corner of the workspace. For plan upgrades, go to https://app.lumalabs.ai/billing → View Plans → select the desired plan and follow the checkout process.

Gifted and promotional credits follow the same rules—they do not roll over and expire at the end of the billing cycle. Expired gifted credits cannot be restored or re-issued, as they were complimentary.

  • Check credit balance: https://app.lumalabs.ai → click "Usage" in the left sidebar
  • Check billing: https://app.lumalabs.ai → click "Billing" in the left sidebar
  • Full pricing breakdown: https://lumalabs.ai/pricing

Cancellation vs Account Deletion

These are completely different actions. The vast majority of customers who say "cancel" mean subscription cancellation, not account deletion.

Cancellation — Stops Billing Only

Cancellation stops billing only. The account remains fully intact—all videos, chats, boards, and files are preserved. You can resubscribe at any time and pick up exactly where you left off. After cancellation, the account reverts to a free account and billing simply stops.

Luma Agents cancellation:

  1. Go to https://app.lumalabs.ai
  2. Click "Billing" in the left sidebar
  3. Click "Manage Subscription"
  4. Follow the prompts to cancel

Dream Machine cancellation:

  1. Go to https://dream-machine.lumalabs.ai
  2. Go to Profile settings
  3. Click "Manage Subscription"
  4. Cancel

Account Deletion — Permanent and Irreversible

Account deletion should only be considered if you explicitly want all of your data permanently removed. This cannot be undone.

Deleting an account removes BOTH the Luma Agents and Dream Machine accounts simultaneously. All stored content is permanently erased—videos, images, chats, boards, files, credits, and payment information. The email address associated with the deleted account cannot be used to create a new account afterward.

Per the Terms of Service, content incorporated into Luma's systems or aggregated data prior to deletion may not be affected. For API users, Luma does not use API-submitted data or generated output for AI model training per the API Business Terms at https://lumalabs.ai/api/terms.

Deletion steps — Luma Agents:

  1. Go to https://app.lumalabs.ai
  2. Click Settings (gear icon)
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm the deletion

Deletion steps — Dream Machine:

  1. Go to https://dream-machine.lumalabs.ai/account
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click the hyperlink under "click here"
  3. Click "Delete my Account & Data"
  4. Type "Delete my Data" and confirm

Note: If the confirmation text is not accepted, try switching your browser language to US English. Either deletion method removes both accounts permanently.

Privacy and AI Training

For privacy concerns, refer to the Terms of Service at https://lumalabs.ai/learning-hub/terms-of-use

For non-Enterprise accounts using the app (not the API), content uploaded by users may have been used for model training depending on when you joined, as outlined in the Terms of Service.

For API users (both Dream Machine API and Uni-1 API), Luma does not use submitted input data or generated output to train AI models. This is explicitly stated in the API Business Terms: https://lumalabs.ai/api/terms

Assets Not Showing on Your Board

If your generated assets are not visible on the canvas, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Chat window and scroll up through the conversation
  2. The Luma Agent presented each final image or video inline in the chat during the session
  3. Click on the asset within the chat—it should appear on the canvas, even if it was not previously visible
  4. Use the down-arrow Download button above the asset to save it to your device

Troubleshooting

  • I can't log in to Luma Agents—it keeps rejecting my credentials: Luma Agents uses Google or Apple SSO only—there is no email/password login. Ensure you're using the exact same Google or Apple account you registered with. Try clearing your browser cache, switching to Chrome or Edge, or using an Incognito window. A hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) can also resolve loading issues.

  • My Dream Machine credits aren't showing in Luma Agents: Credits are completely separate between the two platforms and cannot be transferred under any circumstances. Your Dream Machine credits remain in Dream Machine and can only be used there until they expire. Luma Agents has its own separate credit pool.

  • I cancelled my subscription but was still charged: Confirm which platform you cancelled on—Luma Agents and Dream Machine have entirely separate billing systems. Cancelling on one platform does not affect the other. Check both platforms to confirm cancellation was completed on the correct account. If you believe a charge is in error, contact support and an Account Manager will review your case individually.

  • The Dream Machine login page says "Authentication Issue"—is something broken?: No, this is expected behavior. Dream Machine is being retired and the login page now redirects users to Luma Agents. This is not an error. Go to https://app.lumalabs.ai to continue creating.

  • My generated assets aren't appearing on my board canvas: Click on the Chat window and scroll up through your conversation history. The Luma Agent presents each generated image and video inline in the chat. Click on the asset in the chat to make it appear on the canvas, then use the down-arrow Download button to save it to your device.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is Luma Agents the same as Dream Machine? No. They are two completely separate products with separate logins, separate billing systems, and separate credit pools. Dream Machine is being retired—new signups, plan renewals, and credit purchases are no longer available there. Luma Agents at https://app.lumalabs.ai is the current active platform where all new and continuing users should go.

2. Can I transfer my Dream Machine credits to Luma Agents? No. Credits cannot be transferred between the two platforms under any circumstances. Dream Machine credits remain in Dream Machine and can be used there until they expire. Luma Agents credits are purchased and used separately within that platform.

3. If I cancel my subscription, will I lose my videos and content? No. Cancellation stops billing only—all your videos, images, chats, boards, and files are fully preserved. Your account reverts to a free account and you can resubscribe at any time to pick up exactly where you left off. Only account deletion permanently removes your content.

4. Do unused credits roll over to the next billing cycle? No. Credits reset to your plan's monthly allocation when your plan renews. Unused credits from the previous month are not carried forward. This applies to both standard and gifted/promotional credits—expired promotional credits cannot be restored or re-issued.

5. How do I know which platform my subscription is on? Both Luma Agents and Dream Machine have plans with identical names (such as "Plus"), which frequently causes confusion. Check your billing confirmation email or log in to both platforms separately to verify which one has an active subscription. Luma Agents billing is at https://app.lumalabs.ai/billing and Dream Machine billing is accessed through Profile settings on dream-machine.lumalabs.ai.
